About the role

We are looking to expand our Web Optimisation Team and are recruiting for an additional position of a UX Designer. You are someone who has a fantastic eye for detail and a systematic, analytical approach to their work. You will be responsible for supporting ecommerce objectives while creating useful, intuitive, and memorable web experiences.

The Optimisation team work within the ecommerce department to deliver continuous improvement to the schuh website with a focus on user research, user testing and software testing. Our role is to turn visitors to the website into customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute new ideas to the ecommerce team to improve the overall UX of the ecommerce web platform
  • Create digital designs and wireframes to communicate a vision of proposed changes to the UX of the ecommerce web platform
  • Present research to the ecommerce team in relation to competitors, usability, and customer experience to ensure we have the best possible UX
  • Work collaboratively with the web developers to support the transition of proposed changes from prototype through to implementation
  • Collaborate with our Marketing, Web Development and Customer Experience teams to develop and support the schuh design system
  • Support the wider business on digital design where required

Skills/Attributes Required

  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe products: Photoshop, Illustrator, XD & Dreamweaver
  • Good working knowledge of prototyping software applications
  • Good working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Graphic design experience
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics
  • proven commercial experience of graphic design, user experience and interaction design

 

About the location

Neilson Square is the home of our original warehouse and distribution centre, as well as many head office functions. Situated in Livingston, our site is in-between Edinburgh and Glasgow and very easily reached by car and public transport.
