About the role

Job Title: Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover 9-12 month contract)

An exciting and challenging role at schuh. The role is a senior position within the schuh marketing team and has wide ranging responsibilities. 

We Need

We’re looking for a dynamic marketing manager experienced in delivering best in class retail event activation and marketing initiatives.

What you’ll do

Work with Head of Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer to contribute to annual Marketing Strategy, to outline commercial ambitions and focus for department.

Coordinate  multichannel  marketing  campaigns  across  brand, partnerships, local  area   Marketing (LAM), BTL and internal communications. Specific focus to deliver and activate campaigns across the website and store network.

Work with Head of Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer to define the overall Purpose  marketing strategy including framework, roadmap, ways of working and also KPIs/ measurements of success.

Act as brand ambassador and work with all retail centres and marketing contacts, to ensure all LAM opportunities are maximised.

Create marketing strategies and content calendars for campaigns as required.

Manage the marketing purpose calendar ensuring all critical path creation and management.

Define, brief and create activation strategies for marketing activities on and offline.

Elevate the brand through campaigns, events, activations, collabs, community events and experiential activities.

Identify and coordinate relevant 3rd party partnerships to collaborate with on events.

Build relationships with store teams, knowledge of store business and KPIs.

Create and deliver activation plans for all activities, ensuring all store staff and retail teams are briefed on all marketing plans.

Work closely with Content Team and VM team to deliver relevant assets and POS for activities.

Report on all activities. Provide wash up decks, reporting data and feedback to relevant parties as needed.

Manage the LAM  budget and other areas of budgeting as required.

Produce campaign results decks to measure ROI and provide actionable insights as required

Be an Ambassador for schuh communicating our brand DNA confidently to third parties

Ensure all activity with brands adheres to GDPR policies

Work under own initiative and as part of the wider Team.

Understand and comply with the Company's Health & Safety policy and procedures.

Carry out further reasonable duties as required by the Company.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • People management experience

  • Great attention to detail 
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Solid business acumen and in-depth knowledge of Retail KPIs
  • Innovative and proactive with ideas and always seeking new ways of working
  • Confident nature to bring new ideas to the table and present them to senior stakeholders

Education and Experience:

  • University degree in marketing or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of retail and/or retail marketing experience
  • In-store retail experience is a plus
  • Experience of relevant PR / marketing / events is an advantage

 

About the location

Neilson Square is the home of our original warehouse and distribution centre, as well as many head office functions. Situated in Livingston, our site is in-between Edinburgh and Glasgow and very easily reached by car and public transport.
